On Saturday, October 8th, Blanchard Family Wines has been asked to create a commemorative bottling for the Air Commando Association's annual reunion and meeting in Fort Walton Beach Florida. We will be exclusively providing wine for the 800 person banquet as well as selling the commemorative bottles throughout the reunion weekend. A portion of the proceeds from the wine sales will go back to the Air Commando Association. More details including pricing and ordering information will be posted in the next month or so.

BLANCHARD WINES TO THE RESCUE!
I was extremely surprised and honored when a representative from Generation Rescue contacted me directly in California to thank me for my participation and donation to a local Healdsburg event benefiting the autism charity. I was even more surprised when that representative asked Blanchard Family Wines to be the wine sponsor for a major event in Chicago called Rescue Our Angels, hosted by the Generation Rescue spokesperson, model and actress Jenny McCarthy. Both James and I leaped at the opportunity to support the great cause of autism research, especially at an event held in our home state of Illinois. I flew into Chicago and while accompanied by my parents, Steven and Louisa, proudly represented Blanchard Family Wines at the event that raised a staggering $85,000 for the charity. I also had the privilege of meeting and conversing with Jenny McCarthy herself, who is simply more charming and humorous in person that she is on television. She was kind enough to pose for pictures and even signed a bottle of Blanchard Family Cabernet Sauvignon for our collection. Four different wines from our portfolio were poured for the couple hundred guests there, and the response was so overwhelmingly positive that we have already been asked to come back next year to be a part of an even larger Rescue Our Angels event. Please check out their website (generationrescue.org) for more information about Generation Rescue.

Blanchard Family Wine has been so busy, it's been several months since my last web update. More constant updates are posted on our Facebook site, so please join us there as well. Our wine line-up has been expanding quickly, and by this summer we will have 6 different offerings available to you. Our 2008 Syrah continues to be a favorite, along with our 2007 Cabernet. Our 2008 Cabernet will be released in the early summer and hopefully our 2009 Zinfandel will be as well. We have also added a 2009 Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc that should be out by late spring as well as our 2010 Pinot Gris and 2008 Super Tuscan. Both the Pinot Gris and Super Tuscan are being specially bottled for charities close to our family. The 2010 Pinot Gris has been named the Peoria Pink and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, which was founded in our hometown of Peoria, Illinois. The Super Tuscan is being labeled as the Red Scarf Blend in honor of the men and women involved with the now retired MH-53 Pavelow helicopter and proceeds will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Finally, we have been hired by a second restaurant in Florida to create 3 private label wines for their resort hotel operations. We will post more about that once the wines are in place.
Blanchard Family Wines has also been busy getting the word out about our wines and letting people enjoy our wonderful products. Last November we traveled to Peoria and hosted a wine tasting reception for 200 people at the Illinois Valley Yacht Club. The out pouring of support was tremendous, including a newspaper article in the Peoria Journal Star. This coming summer, the Blanchard brothers will be returning to Peoria for a wine dinner and tasting event in connection with our Peoria Pink breast cancer awareness fund raising efforts. We have also hosted wine tastings in Napa and Denver, and will be pouring at an event at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on the 4th of February and will be hosting a wine dinner at The Lobby in Denver on the 19th of April. Finally, we were just interviewed for Grape Encounters radio and that post is located on our Press and Accolades page. Stay tuned for more exciting news from Blanchard Family Wines!
